Chiara (Cécile de France) lives on a small island off the Atlantic coast with her fisherman husband, Antoine (Grégoire Monsaingeon). They have a happy, grounded marriage and have worked together at sea for twenty years. Their routine is turned upside down when they hire Maxence (Félix Lefebvre), a young new apprentice. Chiara finds herself deeply attracted to Maxence, leading to an intense, passionate affair that causes local scandal and forces her to confront her desires, her marriage, and her future in the small island community.
