Directed by Marek Piestrak, this classic Polish gothic horror film is set in the mid-19th century following the collapsed January Uprising. The plot follows Kacper Wosiński, a former insurgent fighter who returns home to find his wife, Maryna, on her deathbed. Bitter and corrupted by black magic, Maryna curses him with her dying breath, promising eternal vengeance. After her burial, Kacper flees to a wealthy estate to manage an old friend's property, but Maryna's malicious spirit possesses a beautiful, aristocratic woman nearby, returning in the guise of a seductive werewolf/succubus entity to systematically destroy his life, sanity, and everyone around him.
