Set against the cold, high-stakes backdrop of Frankfurt's financial district, the film follows Roland Cordes, a powerful, ruthless executive at a major investment bank. At a gallery opening, Roland meets Svenja, the wife of Oliver Steve, a lower-level banker recently hired by Cordes’s bank. Infatuated with Svenja, Roland uses his corporate power to manipulate the situation: he orchestrates an unwanted, high-risk promotion for her husband Oliver, transferring him to Indonesia to get him out of the country. With Oliver away, Roland pursues Svenja, and the two engage in an intense, secret extramarital affair while navigating corporate power plays and emotional alienation.
