Set in an isolated 18th-century Swedish village, the story begins when a group of soldiers arrives seeking shelter and medical aid for a severely wounded comrade. Although initially welcomed by the deeply religious community, the soldiers soon notice eerie anomalies and fanatic behavior among the locals. As strange events escalate, suspicion grows that the villagers harbor a dark secret and secretly worship an ancient, unholy entity on their land, leading to violent confrontations between the soldiers and the cultists.
