François (Robin Harsch) moves with his girlfriend Christine (Elodie Weber) to the quiet Vallée de Joux, where she works as a teacher. François gets a job writing film reviews for the small local newspaper, but knowing little about cinema, he secretly plagiarizes reviews from a highbrow French film magazine. His fraud draws the attention of Rosa Rouge (Natacha Koutchoumov), a sharp, established film critic for a major national daily newspaper. Rosa initiates a manipulative, sadomasochistic erotic affair with François, using power, sexual dominance, and intellectual control to draw him into a game of desire and deception behind his girlfriend's back.
