Kim (Kim Su-nam) is a middle-aged, disgraced South Korean man living in poverty in the slums of Manila, Philippines. Abandoned by his native country, he scrapes together a living through illegal activities while cohabiting with a young Filipino woman, Lani (Pamela Ortiz), and her young son Jojo (Alex Vincent). As Kim's sense of alienation and desperation grows, his relationship with Lani deteriorates under the weight of financial distress, emotional abuse, and the bleak reality of their living conditions.
