The series follows three couples at different stages of life who undergo therapy with relationship counselor Dr. May Foster (Jane Alexander). Jamie (Michelle Borth) and Hugo (Luke Kirby) are an engaged couple in their 20s confronting fidelity and commitment fears. Carolyn (Sonya Walger) and Palek (Adam Scott) are 30-something professionals whose marriage strained under the pressure of trying to conceive. Katie (Ally Walker) and Dave (Tim DeKay) are a 40-something married couple struggling with complete physical and sexual intimacy loss.
