Markus (Andreas Müller) is a quiet locksmith and volunteer firefighter living a peaceful, happy life in a rural German town with his childhood sweetheart and wife, Ella (Ilka Welz). During a weekend training trip with his fire brigade in a nearby village, Markus gets drunk and wakes up in the bed of Rose (Anett Dornbusch), a local waitress. Though still deeply in love with his wife, Markus finds himself drawn into an intense extramarital affair with Rose, unable to stop returning to see her. As the emotional weight of his double life grows, the affair comes to light, shattering his marriage and driving Markus toward a desperate attempt to resolve his internal torment.
