Hando (Russell Crowe) leads a violent gang of neo-Nazi skinheads in Melbourne. Their routine of xenophobic attacks collapses after local Vietnamese youths unite to fight back and destroy their headquarters. On the run, Hando's gang is joined by Gabe (Jacqueline McKenzie), a troubled runaway fleeing her sexually abusive father. Internal rivalries mount as Hando's best friend Davey (Daniel Pollock) falls in love with Gabe. When Gabe betrays the gang to the police, the fallout escalates into a lethal showdown between the former allies.
