Richie Bravo (Michael Thomas), a faded Austrian schlager singer, scraping by in the off-season of the Italian coastal resort town of Rimini, performs low-rent concerts for elderly female tourists and offers them sexual services to pay off his debts. His routine is disrupted when his long-estranged adult daughter, Tessa (Tessa Göttlicher), suddenly resurfaces after twelve years. Holding intense resentment for his past abandonment, Tessa demands financial compensation for the missing child support of her upbringing, bringing a group of local young men to enforce her demands as Richie scrambles to secure money while keeping his life from collapsing.
