Marina (Olga Dihovichnaya) is a well-off, middle-class woman living in Rostov-on-Don who works as a child psychologist. Her comfortable, privileged life is shattered one evening when she is assaulted and brutally raped by a police officer, Andrey (Sergey Borisov), and his colleagues after being stopped on the street. Instead of reporting the crime—realizing the futility and corruption of the system—Marina becomes obsessively fixated on her attacker. She begins tracking Andrey down, frequenting the diner where the officers eat, and eventually initiates a complex, dark, and intimate relationship with the very man who assaulted her, hiding the affair from her husband.
