Set in the 8th century B.C., twenty years after the start of the Trojan War, Queen Penelope (Caterina Murino) and her son Telemachus (Niels Schneider) struggle to maintain control over Ithaca. Presumed dead at sea, King Odysseus (Alessio Boni) has not returned, prompting violent, power-hungry suitors led by Leocritus (Bruno Todeschini) to occupy the palace and pressure Penelope into remarrying. When Odysseus finally returns, he is severely traumatized by war, paranoia, and PTSD. His brutal governance and deep mistrust of his own household—including his son Telemachus and his wife—drive Ithaca into internal conflict, betrayal, and political instability.
