A tragic, fatal car accident on a dark British Columbia road irrevocably links the lives of multiple strangers across Vancouver. Walt (Callum Keith Rennie), a grieving father, struggles with intense guilt and rage following his son's death; Catherine (Carrie-Anne Moss) faces the slow collapse of her marriage as her husband Dale (Andrew Airlie) remains emotionally paralyzed; and Ray (Kevin Zegers), a troubled young ex-con, tries to rebuild his life while hiding his involvement in the hit-and-run.
