Twenty-seven-year-old Chelli dedicates her entire life to caring for her 24-year-old sister, Gabby, who lives with a severe intellectual disability. The two share a claustrophobic, deeply codependent existence in a dingy apartment, completely isolated from society. When a social worker forces Chelli to place Gabby in a day-care center during the afternoon, the sudden physical separation allows Chelli a tiny window of freedom, leading her to start a romance with Zohar, a gentle school caretaker. But as Zohar tries to move into the apartment, the boundaries between the three completely collapse.
