Set in 2022 against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Gleb (Dmitriy Mazurov), a wealthy corporate executive in a provincial Russian city, finds his life collapsing on two fronts. At work, he is pressured by authorities to draw up conscription/draft lists of his company's employees for military service. At home, suspecting his wife Galina (Iris Lebedeva) of unfaithfulness, he hires a private investigator who confirms she is having an affair with a younger man. Driven by privilege, entitlement, and paranoia, Gleb confronts the lover, resulting in a sudden murder. Gleb then leverages bureaucratic state violence and conscription mechanics to cover up his private crime, sacrificing the lives around him to maintain control.
