Meurtre à Pacot (2014) Stream online

Directed by acclaimed Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck, this intense psychological drama is set in Port-au-Prince in the immediate aftermath of the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake. The story follows an affluent, intellectual bourgeois couple—a husband and a wife—whose luxury home in the elite Pacot neighborhood has been severely damaged. Desperate for money to pay for structural repairs and maintain their high social standing, they decide to rent out the remaining habitable section of their villa to a foreign NGO relief worker named Alex. When Alex brings his young, vibrant Haitian girlfriend, Andrémise, to live in the house, it disrupts the home's delicate power dynamics, exposing deep class divisions, hidden resentments, and psychological fractures within the household.
