Méprises is a 2018 Belgian-French psychological thriller directed by Bernard Declercq in which Jacques falls head over heels for the beautiful and enigmatic Françoise — a married woman whose controlling husband Dr. Lepage deliberately allows his wife to have fleeting affairs while keeping a watchful, obsessive eye over her. Jacques, knowing full well she is married but consumed by desire, pursues her relentlessly — hiding the relationship from his childhood friend Philippe who would never approve — and gets fatally drawn into a dangerous love triangle as Dr. Lepage's sinister manipulation of both his wife and her admirers slowly reveals itself.
