Segment 1 ("El soplador de vidrio"): Glassblower Hilario lives with his wife Evodia. When Evodia's accidental scream deforms a glass piece Hilario is making, a buyer loves the result and orders many more. Hilario sets traps to startle Evodia into screaming to replicate the deformation, but a trap backfires, accidentally causing Evodia's death. Segment 2 ("El difunto al pozo y la viuda al gozo"): Shortly after her husband dies, Jacinta is comforted by her compadre (godfather/family friend). While changing the deceased man's clothes, mutual arousal takes over and the two engage in an immediate sexual encounter right beside the body. Segment 3 ("Los amantes fríos"): A widow arrives at a cemetery plot intended for her deceased husband, only to find a man digging a grave for his daughter on the same plot. A dispute breaks out, leading them to dig together until they uncover two ancient skeletons buried in an embrace. Moved by the sight, they fall into the excavation hole and die together in a matching embrace.
