Daphné (Camélia Jordana), three months pregnant, is spending time at a rural estate with her partner François (Vincent Macaigne). When François is called away to Paris to cover for an ill colleague, his cousin Maxime (Niels Schneider) arrives to stay for a few days. Over four days, Daphné and Maxime go on walks and share detailed stories of their past romantic entanglements and heartbreaks. As their respective stories reveal a web of infidelities, unrequited desires, and compromised relationship contracts, a mutual attraction develops between them.
