Les Bottes is a 2004 French TV drama directed by Renaud Bertrand, set against the backdrop of the May 1968 protests, in which young Caroline is sent to the countryside with her mother and falls deeply in love with Philippe Peyrac, her dashing riding instructor in magnificent leather boots. Behind Caroline's innocent admiration, a secret affair unfolds between Philippe and her mother — and when Marie-France, Philippe's new intern, becomes his girlfriend, she discovers he spent the night with Caroline's mother and takes her revenge by sleeping with Philippe's new male student, turning a coming-of-age story into a tangled web of desire and betrayal among the adults around Caroline.
