L'Autre Côté du Miroir is a 2017 French experimental drama directed by Aurélien Réal in which a reclusive writer living in a remote manor with only a groom and a gardener for company takes in a young Arab woman who is an illegal immigrant — offering her shelter in exchange for becoming the model and muse for his next metafiction novel. As the four of them live together behind closed doors, the boundaries between fiction and reality, between observer and subject, slowly dissolve into something deeply intimate, unsettling, and impossible to define.
