Louis Després (Emmanuel Schwartz), a 28-year-old disaffected and alienated French-Canadian living in Montreal, leads a life of deep isolation, xenophobia, and existential paralysis. Having no real friends, clear career goals, or meaningful human connections, Louis spends his time working a mundane job, drinking, and obsessively consuming pornography. His internal frustration turns into toxic obsession when an outgoing, attractive English-speaking neighbor (Jade Hassouné) moves into the apartment next door. Envious of his neighbor's social circle, confidence, and easy charm, Louis spirales into severe neurosis, resentment, and identity crisis.
