Las Vidas de Celia is a 2006 Spanish-Mexican drama directed by Antonio Chavarrías in which Celia survives a suicide attempt on the railway tracks one night — and that same night, a teenage girl is raped and murdered nearby. Detective Miguel Ángel takes charge of the investigation, which leads him deep into Celia's world — her husband Agustín, and her two sisters Carmen and Ángela. While Miguel Ángel arrests Pedro, Ángela's ex-boyfriend, his real suspicion falls on Agustín — Celia's own husband — as the crime slowly unravels the dark and rotten truth hidden beneath the surface of Celia's quiet, seemingly ordinary life.
