Stefan (Julian Sands) is a composer married to Alina (Joanna Pacuła). Under a pact agreed upon by both spouses, Stefan allows Alina total freedom to spend every Friday with her lover, Paolo (Tchéky Karyo), at a secluded villa. Stefan agrees to this open arrangement under the strict condition that Alina remains completely honest with him and never falls in love with her lover. However, Stefan's intense jealousy begins to consume him, driving him into an affair with Louisa (Lara Wendel). The delicate arrangement falls apart when Alina breaks the rules of their agreement, leading to betrayal, obsession, and emotional destruction.
