After grieving the death of her father and undergoing a stay in a psychiatric facility, Catherine (Marina Foïs), a 50-year-old French woman, travels to a seaside town in Brazil to reconnect with her sister. Seeking a fresh start, she meets Gil (Maicon Rodrigues), a charismatic and significantly younger local man. Drawn into a passionate, volatile relationship, Catherine abandons her conventional life to live with him in a modest beach community. As cultural divides, economic exploitation, and internal mental instability resurface, Catherine's desperate quest for rebirth blurs the line between emotional liberation and total self-destruction.
