Abril (María Figueras) is a thirty-something woman trapped in a decaying, emotionally distant relationship with Octavio (Rafael Spregelburd), an engrossed theater director and playwright. Seeking emotional escape from her suffocating life, Abril engages in a secret, passionate extramarital affair. However, the illicit relationship takes a sudden, shocking turn when her lover dies unexpectedly during one of their secret encounters. Terrified and deeply shaken, Abril abandons the body without alerting the authorities and flees to Brazil under an assumed identity. As she wanders through new surroundings, confronting isolation and her own shifting perception, she embarks on a quiet voyage of self-discovery to shed her past identity and embrace "another skin."
