Emma (Ana Girardot), a 27-year-old French novelist seeking authentic material for her next book on sex work, moves to Berlin to research the industry from the inside. Intending to stay for only a couple of weeks, she gets hired at "La Maison," a renowned high-end brothel, adopting the alias Justine. Over two years, Emma finds a sense of sorority and personal empowerment while confronting the emotional tolls, societal isolation, and strain commercial sex work places on building traditional romantic bonds.
