Set in communist Czechoslovakia, the story centers on a young man named Filip (Ivan Franěk) who returns from mandatory military service hoping for a fresh start. Unable to find legitimate employment, he falls under the influence of a charismatic criminal mentor and becomes involved in an illegal art smuggling and burglary ring. As Filip gets drawn deeper into high-stakes burglaries of historic antiques and religious artifacts, he falls in love with a young woman, Sylva (Yvetta Blanarovičová). When a major heist goes wrong and police pressure intensifies, Filip tries to break free from his criminal ties, leading to a deadly confrontation between his loyalties, his lover, and his criminal associates.
