In Visalia, California, teenager Ken Park shoots himself at a local skate park, setting the backdrop for an exploration of the troubled, alienated lives of four suburban teenagers. Shawn (James Bullard) engages in a secret sexual affair with his girlfriend's mother, Rhonda (Maeve Quinlan). Claude (Stephen Jasso) faces constant abuse from his aggressive father (Wade Williams), who eventually makes an unwanted sexual advance toward him, prompting Claude to flee home. Peaches (Tiffany Limos) lives under the iron fist of her hyper-religious father (Julio Oscar Mechoso), who violently attacks her boyfriend Curtis upon catching them together and subjects her to a controlling, quasi-incestuous domestic atmosphere. Tate (James Ransone), a sociopathic youth who engages in autoerotic asphyxiation, eventually murders his grandparents. The isolated storylines converge near the end when Shawn, Claude, and Peaches spend the afternoon together and engage in a consensual group sexual encounter.
