Fleur (Nina Meurisse) and Julian (Laurence Roothooft) fall deeply in love after a chance meeting at a concert hall. Driven by passion and a desire for LGBTQ+ activism, they launch "Project 22"—an ambitious journey to travel the globe and get married in every single country where same-sex marriage is legally recognized. However, after celebrating four weddings, their international journey and activist campaign come to a sudden and heartbreaking halt when Julian falls ill and unexpectedly passes away. Told through a non-linear narrative, the story moves between the early days of their romance, the heights of their globe-trotting campaign, and Fleur's process of grief and memory.
