Il Segreto dell'Acqua is a 2011 Italian crime drama miniseries directed by Renato De Maria and starring Riccardo Scamarcio, in which arrogant Rome detective Angelo Caronia is transferred back to his hometown of Palermo as punishment — where he must investigate a series of murders tied to the city's water crisis while confronting his family's dark Mafia ties. At the center of the personal drama is Daniela, a colleague who is the girlfriend of Angelo's brother Blasco — but who becomes increasingly drawn to Angelo, eventually sleeping with him behind Blasco's back. The affair creates a dangerous love triangle between the two brothers, made even more explosive when Daniela discovers she is pregnant and doesn't know whether the father is Angelo or Blasco.
