Hemel (2012) Stream online

Hemel is a 2012 Dutch drama directed by Sacha Polak in which Hemel, a promiscuous young Amsterdam woman, spends her nights sleeping with a string of men searching for the difference between sex and love — including a married man named Douwe, the husband of her father's colleague, with whom she has a brief affair. The most important person in Hemel's life is her father Gijs, a charming auctioneer who has dated a series of younger women since Hemel's mother died, and the two share a dangerously intimate bond — walking around naked in each other's presence, play-fighting like lovers, with critics noting the film deliberately suggests incest through its editing. When Gijs falls seriously in love with the young auctioneer Sophie for the first time, Hemel's entire world is destabilized as she is forced to confront her Oedipal dependency on her father and her desperate inability to form real emotional connections with anyone else.
