Conceived as a fragmented, non-linear mosaic, the film explores the inner world and life of iconic author Franz Kafka (Idan Weiss). Set in early 20th-century Prague, Kafka is torn between the overwhelming expectations of his tyrannical father Hermann (Peter Kurth), his monotonous day job at a workers' insurance institute, and his compulsive impulse to write. Moving across different stages of his life—from childhood to his premature death from tuberculosis in 1924—the narrative focuses heavily on his internal anxieties and complex, conflicted romantic relationships, particularly with his fiancée Felice Bauer and his Czech translator Milena Jesenská.
