After her husband leaves for an extended foreign scholarship, Bogna (Hanna Dunowska), a thirty-year-old woman trapped in an unhappy marriage, learns that her highly oppressive mother, Aniela (Alina Janowska), has died. Returning to her hometown for the funeral, Bogna is plunged into a surreal, dream-like voyage through her own past. The unexpected journey triggers a psychological reckoning with her ultra-conservative Catholic upbringing and a profound sexual awakening. Forced to confront bizarre nightmares—including an incubus resembling Joseph Stalin—and repressed trauma, she reunites with an old friend, Wiśka (Ewa Sałacka), unearthing long-suppressed lesbian desires and forcing Bogna to dissect the roots of her lifelong emotional and sexual suppression.
