Alex (Natali Broods), a middle-aged woman, steps in to care for her aging father, Jean (Johan Leysen), who is suffering from advancing dementia, after her mother Lucy (Frieda Pittoors) suddenly walks out on their long marriage. Moving into her childhood home to assist Jean, Alex is forced to confront long-buried family secrets and painful realities about her parents' past. Concurrently, Alex navigates her own strained marriage with her husband Claus (Theo Maassen), as the emotional burden of her father's illness and her fractured relationship expose the fragility of the lives they have built.
