In a remote, environmentally degraded town in Pará within the Brazilian Amazon, Cauby (Gustavo Machado), a freelance photographer, becomes captivated by Lavínia (Camila Pitanga), a volatile and striking woman with a traumatic past. Lavínia is legally married to Pastor Ernani (Zé Carlos Machado), a charismatic and idealistic evangelical preacher who previously rescued her from homelessness and prostitution. Despite her deep gratitude toward her husband, Lavínia plunges into a passionate, secret erotic affair with Cauby. As local social conflicts involving land grabbers, gold prospectors, and corporate greed escalate around Ernani's activism, the love triangle spirals into paranoia, betrayal, and violence.
