Set in 1970s Braunschweig, West Germany, ambitious young Sigrid "Sigi" Schuster (Cornelia Gröschel) overcomes entrenched institutional sexism to become one of the first female police officers admitted to regular patrol duty. Paired with her skeptical male colleague Martin (Marlon Kittel), Sigi fights to earn the respect of her male peers and conservative family while investigating a series of local criminal cases and navigating personal conflicts.
