Directed by Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen, this highly acclaimed Dutch comedy-drama (adapted from the popular stage play by Maria Goos) follows four former college friends who reunite in their 40s, each facing a massive crisis in their respective professional and personal lives. Pieter, a gay archivist, has been suspended for embezzling municipal paintings; Joep is an ambitious politician whose career and marriage are crumbling; Tom is a brilliant but erratic lawyer fresh out of rehab; and Maarten is a theater director preparing for a new premiere. They all seek refuge at Pieter's spacious apartment, but as their individual lives unravel, their shared history and deep-seated resentments bubble to the surface, turning their safe haven into a psychological battleground.
