Eugene (Peter Flaherty), a lonely, struggling photographer, wanders the Melbourne streets capturing the city's grim underbelly. He becomes fixated on Josephine (Sarah Timm), a teenage girl trapped working within a dangerous, underworld prostitution syndicate managed by a ruthless pimp. Fixating on her as his artistic muse, Eugene rescues Josephine and harbors her in his apartment under the guise of helping her escape sex work. However, as Eugene's obsession grows and he uses photographs of her ordeal to pitch a major photography feature, the line blurs between his desire to save Josephine and his urge to exploit her, drawing them into a dangerous confrontation with her pimp.
