Bridget (Anna Thomson), an erratic and alcoholic stripper living in New York, works frantically to raise $500,000 to buy back custody of her young son, whom she lost after orchestrating her husband's murder years earlier. Her desperate pursuit leads her into bizarre, dangerous situations—from working in sex arcades to becoming an unwitting drug mule in the Middle East. Desperate for money, she accepts a proposal from a wealthy, eccentric author named Hawk (David Wike): she will receive one million dollars if she agrees to marry and live with his mentally disabled son, Pete (Arthur Storch), for five years. As Bridget moves into their home, she navigates bizarre household dynamics, predatory exploiters, and her own self-destructive impulses in a chaotic attempt to stabilize her life.
