Set in the close-knit Métis community of Wapamon Sipi, Beatrice (Dana Solomon), a Two-Spirited newspaper reporter and convenience store clerk, lives a peaceful life surrounded by her friends and elders. Her stability is disrupted by two arrivals: her estranged mother, Léonore (Gail Maurice), who returns seeking reconciliation after years of absence due to alcoholism, and Chani (Derica Lyn Lafrance), a newcomer from the city searching for her biological family. As Beatrice and Chani form a romantic bond while searching for Chani’s roots, unresolved generational trauma and buried secrets collide.
