Down-on-his-luck and recently divorced, Derek (Damian Maffei) accepts a lucrative but sinister job offer from a tech firm led by his acquaintance Gilbert (Marc Romeo). Derek's task is to live isolated in an apartment with "Susan" (Yvonne Emilie Thälker), an advanced artificial intelligence sex doll designed to explore human desire, submission, and trauma responses. As Derek spends time with Susan, he resists treating her merely as an object and instead attempts to teach her empathy, mobility, and human connection. However, as the tech firm's demands push the boundaries of psychological and physical testing, Derek finds himself trapped in a disturbing, abusive dynamic that blurs the lines between human empathy and synthetic exploitation.
