On the day of her daughter's wedding, Hazel Delany (Brenda Blethyn) walks out on her husband Peter (Alun Armstrong), a strip club owner who has engaged in a string of extramarital affairs throughout their 30-year marriage. Seeking help, they consult sex therapist Alona Cunningham (Julie Graham), who is simultaneously struggling with her own relationship with partner Paul (Richard Armitage)—a probation officer falsely accused of misconduct by a young client. As Hazel experiences a late-in-life sexual awakening with a younger man, their family and social circle navigate secret affairs, unfulfilled desires, and complex romantic choices.
