Au Plus Près du Soleil is a 2015 French drama directed by Yves Angelo in which Sophie, a magistrate, discovers mid-case that the woman she is prosecuting — Juliette, charged with driving her lover to suicide — is the biological mother of her own adopted teenage son Léo. Terrified of losing him, Sophie manipulates the case to convict Juliette. Once released, Juliette begins an affair with Olivier — Sophie's husband — without knowing who he really is, and when Juliette books herself onto the same cruise ship as the family for revenge, the situation spirals into its darkest territory as she also becomes sexually involved with Léo — her own biological son — making the film a slow-burning Greek tragedy of affairs, revenge, and unknowing incest.
