Marina (Ariane Labed), a socially awkward 23-year-old woman, lives in a quiet Greek factory town caring for her terminally ill father, Spyros (Vangelis Mourikis). Alienated from traditional human interaction and observing human behavior primarily through Sir David Attenborough's nature documentaries, Marina relies on her open-minded friend Bella (Evangelia Randou) to learn about sex and physical intimacy. As her father's health deteriorates, Marina's emotional world expands through her father's frank discussions about life and death, as well as an awakening relationship with a visiting engineer (Yorgos Lanthimos).
