Selma (Laura Cardoso), a devoted and solitary middle-aged mother, lives in a modest São Paulo home with her adult son, Raimundo (Fransérgio Araújo). Her deep love for him borders on intense, possessive codependency. When Raimundo loses his job and begins behaving secretively, Selma becomes obsessed with tracking his every move. Her maternal paranoia turns destructive when she suspects he is involved in criminal activities and seeing a new woman, driving her to extreme lengths to protect and keep him.
