Atlas (2013) Stream online

This raw, experimental French feature documentary takes an unflinching look into the global underbelly of addiction and the sex trade. Filmed across extreme environments in countries like Cambodia, India, Russia, Thailand, and France, the movie functions as a series of dark, highly stylized tableaux. Through haunting multilingual voiceovers and monologues, various marginalized women describe a nightmarish, parallel world defined by economic desperation, heavy substance abuse, physical ruin, and a constant cycle of dangerous, casual extramarital affairs and transactional encounters. It is a bleak, hallucinatory study of the human body pushed to its absolute limits of trauma and moral decay.
