Set in an empty, sun-drenched Bologna during the quiet month of August, Mario (Stefano Fregni) is a 40-year-old street sweeper struggling with severe pornography addiction. His daily routine consists of his menial job, caring for his elderly mother (Pina Randi)—who uses a wheelchair following a stroke—and isolating himself behind his computer monitor to consume adult media. His routine shifts when his sister takes their mother away for a summer vacation. Left alone, Mario crosses paths with Agatha (Sara Sartini), a young single mother and local bartender raising her young daughter, Viola (Martina Capannini). Agatha's arrival forces Mario out of his online bubble and forces him to face real, unscripted human emotion and intimacy for the first time in years.
