Amazing Stories is a 1994 Chinese anthology drama film built around the theme of karma, told through three separate stories — in the first, a fox fairy sacrifices herself to save a hunter from a vampire; in the second, a shop owner is murdered after his wife begins a secret affair with his own servant, and the surprising karmic consequences of that betrayal unfold in unexpected ways; and in the third, a doll fairy punishes a man for sexually abusing his wife by burying itself with him in a fire — together painting a portrait of desire, betrayal and supernatural justice.
