Diana (Claudia Koll) is happily married to Paolo (Paolo Lanza), but their sex life relies heavily on her recounting real and fabricated extra-marital sexual adventures to arouse him. Paolo encourages her flirtations under the belief that they are harmless fantasies. However, when Diana meets Don Eduardo (Franco Branciaroli), a flamboyant French poet, she crosses the line from playful fantasy into an actual physical affair. Discovery of her infidelity drives Paolo into a rage, leading to temporary separation before he ultimately accepts their unconventional open dynamics.
